Q: INSTALLATION NOTICE

1.	Installation SmartEyes driver (Video capture board device driver) -> Rebooting Set up SmartEyes-XXXX S/W program.

2.	Rebooting after SmartEyes XXXX S/W program set up.

3.	System is down if IRQ of video capture board is shared with different device. IRQ sharing can be confirmed when the system is booting/the system information is displayed or click the registration information after selecting [Control Panel] -> [System] -> [Computer] at Device Manager. If IRQ is shared, operate the system after capture board is installed to another PCI slot and reconfirming. If there is no available IRQ, remove another unused device. Generally, two serial ports (com1, com2) are provided to PC, disable unused port.

4.	System is down when the driver is installed incorrectly.

5.	SmartEyes system supports almost all of video card, but unsuitable VGA card can be also existed. (Surely setting the color by 16 bit at display registration information.) VGA card must surely support Direct X.

6.	If the screen is not appeared normally even though all of installation is completed normally, it can be bad connection with capture board and slot or bad connection to camera. Change the board or install with another empty slot.

7.	Before operating the system after completion of installation, disable power saving function. BIOS SETUP: press [DEL] key (generally, [DEL] key and F2, F8 key is also available) when PC is booting, BIOS SETUP screen appears. Select [POWER MANAGEMENT] menu and disable it including hard disk. WINDOWS SETUP: Press [Control Panel] -> [Display] -> [Screen Saver] -> [Energy Saving for Monitor] -> [Setting] button. Set [System stand-by], [Turn off monitor], [Turn off hard disk] into [Always On] at [power schemes] button in [power management] icon in [Control Panel].Complete the settings by pressing [OK] key.

8.	In case of installation at current PC, if bad sector is in hard disk or disk's fragment is serious, system performance is deteriorated or down. In case of a lot of bad sectors, change hard disk. Arrange hard disk by using hard disk optimum program.

Q.	When I execute SmartEyes server, interface screen appears, but camera screen is blank in spite of connecting cameras. Why is that?

	Because the color is set by 24 bit or 32 bit at display registration information.

Q.	How many channels does SmartEyes 1016 support? Is there any different function from SmartEyes 1004?

	SmartEyes 1016 has 16 channels. The difference from 1004 is number of channels. SmartEyes 1016 has sensor detection by using IO board and watch dog function. The rest basic function is the same as SmartEyes 1004.

Q.	Can be connected by only one computer?

	No, it isn’t limited to only one. Connection is available at any PC. Basically, it is possible to connect with three PCs at the same time. Several people can connect by using IP Multicasting.

Q.	If peripherals like camera are not included, what is necessary to install full system? How about compatible (specific product)?

	SmartEyes system supports NTSC /PAL type all of cameras. You can setup the basic system if you have PC, camera, camera connection cable. If you operate camera to left, right, up/downward, zoom etc, you need peripherals such as Pan/Tilt camera and RX Receiver.

Q.	If any defect product is occurred or consumer isn’t fully satisfied with the product, is it possible to refund the payment as well as exchange the product?

	It is possible to exchange in case of occurring defect in product. (Please preview trial performance enough through demo server when you purchase the product.)

Q.	Is any additional computer system necessary to install SmartEyes 1004?

	You have to have computer because SmartEyes 1004 is board type. You can use without any problem if you have the following spec. CPU: Pentium 4 1.7GHz and above RAM: 128MB and above HDD: 80GB and above

Q.	What is IP Multicasting?

	IP Multicasting is to transmit SmartEyes image to several client through one IP address.

Q.	Can I use SmartEyes system at Notebook computer?

	No, you can’t install SmartEyes board at notebook computer. Any PC which has PCI Slot can be installed by SmartEyes server it isn’t possible to install SmartEyes board at notebook computer because Notebook doesn’t support any PCI Slot. You can just use notebook computer with SmartEyes client program and its use is surveillance outside.

Q.	If hard disk is fully used with no empty space, do I have to exchange hard disk?

	No, you shouldn’t. SmartEyes 1004 deletes the oldest files in order automatically. If you don’t want to delete files, you must backup from previous files in order

Q.	I want to do remote surveillance, what shall I do?

	If you want remote surveillance, communication network such as network line, cable modem, ADSL should be connected at server PC. PC at remote should be able to be connected at Internet. If possible, you better install high speed communication network. After that, download and execute SmartEyes Client program and input server IP. Then, you can do remote surveillance.

Q.	I heard that most of SmartEyes’s function is executed by software, can I use it if I purchase SmartEyes board and software only?

	You can use SmartEyes system immediately if you install SmartEyes board and SmartEyes program only at Server PC because most of SmartEyes’s function is executed by software. Of course, you must surely have CCD camera. Any PC which will be used for SmartEyes client doesn’t need SmartEyes board. You can use SmartEyes system only if you install SmartEyes program.
